Ausama Monajed is a member of the Syrian National Council and the Executive Director of London-based Strategic Research and Communication Centre. The centre provides research, analysis, policy recommendations and commentary on the most important topics in various fields in Syria to media outlets, governments and academic institutions. The centre has been releasing daily news round-ups of the uprising in Syria, documenting everyday's events, stories, videos and images.
Formerly trained by internationally renounced strategic communications experts, and has been involved in many political and media campaigns. Mr. Monajed is widely quoted and interviewed in prestigious international media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Foreign Policy Magazine, USA Today, The Independent, The Daily Star, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, The Financial Times and others. He has also been a regular contributor to international news networks including CNN, BBC, ABC, Sky, ZDF, Reuters, AFP, Alarabiya and Aljazeera.
Mr. Monajed worked as communication consultant in Europe and the US, previously served as the Founder and Director of Barada Television; a Syrian opposition TV channel, and an Economist and Projects Manager with the European Commission and the United Nations Development Program. He holds a postgraduate degree in Political Communication from the UK and an undergraduate degree in Economics and Management from the University of Damascus in Syria.
